Lance Corporal James Christie 242532, 1/6 Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment
James Christie was born in Perth Road, Scone on the 22nd December 1898. He was the son of Andrew and Frances Christie and was one of 7 children. He attended Scone Public School and on leaving was employed as a van man. He enlisted in the Highland Cycle Regiment in early October 1914, and by May 1916 was involved in the theatre of war in France. He was drafted into the Royal Warwick Regiment in June 1917. Lance Corporal James Christie was posted as missing on the 19th June 1917. His captain wrote to his parents telling them how respected James was by all his comrades. James was 19 years old. His body was never identified and his exact resting place is unknown. He was awarded the Victory and British War medals.
