Sapper David Brown Robertson 142143, Royal Engineers

David Brown Robertson was born on 6th May 1891, at Albert Road, Scone.  He was the youngest child of John and Grace Robertson.  David had three brothers and two sisters.  The family later lived at Myrtle Cottage, in Scone.  David was educated at Scone Public School.  Upon completing his education, he worked as a telephone fitter.  David enlisted in the Royal Engineers on 11th November 1915 and was mobilised to Salonika on 4th April 1916.   Sapper David Brown died in Salonika on the 10th October 1918, having contracted malaria.  He was 27 years of age.  He was awarded the Victory and British War medals.
